In the tenth century in Japan, during the heian period, a court lady who scholars now know as Sei Shonagon (not her real name but it is a title that refers to her status in the palace in Heiankyō) wrote the book titled "Makura no Sōshi" (The Pillow Book) which were observations of her time in the palace. This blog, while I could never presume to compare my work with such a great author, is meant to be in the same spirit of observing the world around me just as Sei Shonagon had observed hers.
